“Pretty good museum”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Maybe I was expecting more from a museum at UT-Austin, but this museum was pretty average compared to other fine arts museums found on a college campus. Easy to walk through but some odd choices of exhibitions and organization. Contemporary art was on special exhibit, but it was probably 50/50 in terms of hits and misses. With a better special exhibition going on, I would probably have been more impressed. My biggest gripe is that they have the space and not sure they are utilizing it as well as they could be (making it seem smaller t

“First real Austin museum”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

It's really about the work. LOVE it. Great work showcased in a way that is all about the art. Wish it were bigger ... but that's not a complaint about HOW one enjoys the museum, just how long! Perfect way to spend a half day, which many people think of as "enough" anyway! I highly recommend visiting this museum.

“Wonderful collection, great variety”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

A great variety of art, very well laid out. Wish they had a larger selection of Western art, only had about 6 pieces. But I would go again. We only spent 1.5 hours, but you could spend all day. Downstairs they had a fun contemporary exhibit, some very unique and fun pieces.

“Superb contempoary setcion”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

The downstairs modern art collection was well laid out, had great depth and held the interest. Look out for the mini elevators and the bee/wasp, who ever laid this out did a superb job!

“Outstanding”

On the Univ of Texas campus this museum is high quality and beautiful. Art works and sculptures in a clean beautiful setting. Five minutes north from downtown and there is a one mile stretch of restaurants which run along the campus on Guadalupe St.
