The art is great and it's free on Thursdays. The cafe is fairly good too. Convenient parking a block east of museum. It's a wonderful place to spend an afternoon in the hot summer months.

Great variety of art, and I really enjoyed the temporary exhibit containing the art of the "wild west" throughout the years. The main exhibits were a mixture of classic art pieces but nothing really struck me as special about these rooms.

The Blanton has travelling exhibits that we enjoy. The museum is on the University of Texas campus, so parking will be in a garage nearby.

The parking for this museum as a bit difficult to find, but once inside, this was a museum with variety, from and exhibit in the art of basketball (strange and disappointing), to some modern art (guess art is in the eye of the beholder). The Tibetan art was interesting and colourful and sparked conversation between my friend and I. The more permanent exhibits were equally as varied, ancient coins, roman type statues, and modern art, which I didn't find very appealing to my personal taste. But part of the fun in seeing an art museum of this size is you can be in and out in a short time or spend all afternoon. My favourite was the stacked waters installation along the walls and staircase. It was pretty, calming and engaging.

Interesting permanent exhibits as well as lucked into viewing the original 13 Rules of Basketball - Written by James Naismith! Great way to spend an afternoon.
