We only did a quick stop - but long enough to notice how clean and well maintained it is. It is always nice to see a place so respected.

This place was once a forgotten marker on a map, but it got attention a few years back by the famous San Antonio architectural firm, Lake-Flato. The tiny museum has a great history of the place, which should start your visit. The best part of the site is the ability to walk like you have a garden to yourself, as there's ever people there. The best spot for quiet meditation is in the North East corner. Picture a babbling brook and paths and nothing gloomy or dark about it. The historical part is a plus.

We spent a couple of hours here walking the grounds and reading the memorials of so many famous Texans, and people who dedicated their lives to public service. The grounds are immaculately kept; not a single blade of grass was out of place. The small Visitor Center was very nice, and the film about the cemetery's history was quite informative.
