Fun maybe a stretch, but we did enjoy Pioneer farms. Rizwan enjoyed recreating pioneer life, especially the outdoor cooking. For me,it was more interesting seeing my kids react, rather then actually the exhibits themselves. Feeding the donkeys was a highlight, as was the $5 horse ride. We want on a beautiful day. I imagine summer is not a good time to visit. The blacksmith demo was disappointing since no one took the time to explain what was happening.

The farm has never been modernized. Several weekends a year they host special events. Great to see how our ancestors lived and worked when they were pioneering this land.

Note that this perspective from a day when nothing was scheduled: It was just a hot, dry, dusty, worn out farm with mostly dilapidated exhibits and absolutely nothing going on. Only one employee was present, in the gift shop.

We left scratching our heads, wondering why anyone would want to go there.

The web site should make it more clear: if no interesting event is scheduled, it's not worth visiting.
