From the time I called to book my stay to the time I checked out, the experience was, well... excellent! Wine and a hand written note from the manager welcoming me, vinyl collection and phonograph, hard wood floors, outstanding mini bar selections (I had flat bread and brie), amazing courtyard, they even found me a power supply for my Mac to borrow for a couple of hours (I think it was one of the employee's). Just awesome.

I will never stay anywhere else when I am in Austin. This place was truly a treat.

I am new to this process...but I wanted to share how great this new hotel in Austin is. We stayed in this historic mansion that has been beautifully restored with a rock 'n roll edge. Wine at check-in, crepes for breakfast, and the most relaxing grounds imaginable.

There is a new, fantastic hotel in Austin! We normally stay at the so so interesting and funky San Jose, which is owned by the same folks, but this time, we decided to treat ourselves to the ultra cool St. Cecilia. The Inn used to be a victorian style bed and breakfast, but it has been totally redone--each room has a private entry, and they have added bungalows (next to their very cool pool ) which is where we stayed -1 bedroom and a big sitting room. The mattresses are those wonderful organic Haastens, sooo luxurious!! The bed linens and towels are amazingly wonderful. The shower was huge and lovely. The mini-bar was stocked with such unusual things--one could not help sampling--local handcrafted flatbreads, handmade chocolates that I had never sampled before, Kombucca, cheese, pate.....so interesting. When you check in, you can choose from period LPs and DVDs to listen to/ watch from an incredible turquoise mohair sofa.....the style of the interiors is something like mod-victorian meets rock and roll. It is one of the most inspiring places that I have been. The staff is very accomodating, very!!! We felt right at home. We loved the location. Just a short walk from all of the fun stuff on south congress. They serve a beautiful breakfast--the morning we were there, there was a choice of sweet or savory crepes with a side of the most wonderful heirloom tomatoes, and fresh squeezed blood orange juice with homemade scones and butter. Our children were with us, 8 and 13, and they were as welcomed by the hotel as movie star types would have been. I loved this place. It was so luxurious and quirky at the same time, which is so unusual. I can't wait to go back.
