“Cold but fun”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

The water temp was shockingly cold but it was refreshing on a hot day. The diving board was fun to watch different people do tricks and once again, everyone was in a great mood.

“Nice attraction”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Nice, plenty of space to set up chairs and blankets to sit.... The water is VERY cold! Even when it's 100+ degrees! you feel the chill. We saw people on tubes and kayaks but not sure how they got onto the water. Wear water shoes, the floor beneath the water is stone with slippery moss. Not sure how kid friendly, depending on the age I guess & their tolerance, the water starts at about 3 1/2 feet deep so if they're really little, you may want to bring some flaoties. They offer rain checks good for 60 days if there's lightening (there was the day we went). Nice experience overall!

“A GREAT place to chill and relax”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Fun, sun, sparkling blue COOL water, shaded areas, sunny areas.. all is available here at Austin's delightful Barton Springs Pool-- a natural spring-fed swimming hole that has refreshed thousands, for MANY years- swim for exercise, or just jump in and get out, people watch, visit with friends, make new friends, enjoy one of the finest places any major city could ever offer. For over 22 years I have enjoyed Barton Springs, and enjoyed seeing others enjoy it. One reviewer ranted that she saw a few women topless. This is because this IS LEGALLY ALLOWED here ! It is not a regular occurrence, HUNDREDS aren't doing it, but it is allowed and is not a SHOW and tell type of 'event'. NO one is completely naked, as she suggested. However there are separate open-air changing /showering areas/bathrooms for men and women and one may be naked there.
