This facility is serene and absolutely worth every penny. The smell from the kitchen permeated the whole dining space and smelt wonderful. I visited for an afternoon and spa time/massage and hope to go back soon. Loved it!!

I'm pretty finicky when it comes to spas, being a spa junkie and massage therapist. I was in town for the weekend and in dire need of a refreshing getaway. This place is a bit of a trek, but the drive was stunning and really set the stage for the experience to come. I highly recommend Ashley and the massage: From Sweden to Tibet and Back. I literally felt like a new person afterwards, very relaxed...plus solutions to ongoing problems just popped into my head! It really cleared some stagnant energy - I've had a lot of success with energy therapy. Do not miss the outdoor shower and outdoor patio, and if possible, I'd get an outdoor massage (weather permitting). Everything was so clean and homey. Can't wait to go back!

Dear Nancy,
It really pleases us to here such positive feedback from spa regulars. We love the Sweden to Tibet massage as well and always strive to have unique treatment options. If you love energy treatments be sure to try our Intuitive Energy Session for clearing stagnant energy and awakening creativity next time you visit. We hope to see you back again soon.

Yes, it is very expensive, but it is so worth it. The rooms are lovely with very comfortable beds and nice front porch area and a lovely bath with a deep tub for soaking. The food there is beyond fantastic. Not only is it healthy and low calorie, it is delicious and innovative. Everything I tried was insanely good. There are a zillion activities to fill your time when you are not having spa treatments (I recommend the Lime Ginger pick me up with massage and the Thai massage was the best ever.) There are 3 pools--2 outdoor and one indoor for aqua classes and/or lap swimming. There are several beautiful rooms for reading and relaxing as well as hammocks by the lake and lounge chairs by the pools. We enjoyed the hydro bikes and kayaks on the lake and went on a very nice hike in a city park that we reached by boat (rustic, natural landscape with nice dirt trails.) The service is wonderful and all the staff there are super friendly and helpful. This is just a great place to kick back and relax.

Received the three day package for two as a gift. My best friend and I had never been to a spa, so we didn't know what to expect. It was absolutely amazing. The staff was beyond accommodating, and the facilities were beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. We spent the first half of the day outside doing the lake activities and completely wore ourselves out. The second half of the day we spent at the spa, relaxing, eating and enjoying the surroundings. We both agreed that we were at heaven on earth. Never put a stitch of makeup on, and ate in our robes several times. Whether you want total relaxation, total fitness, amazing healthy food, or a combination of all, this place is the place to go. We are now trying to figure out how we can make this a yearly trip.

Room Tip: Lake view room was excellent.

There's just no place like it! I have been visiting this spa for the last 11 years. I love being there! This year we tried out the kayaking...it was soooo much fun! Everything is always nearly perfect and if it is not they will do everything they can to make up for it or fix it till it is perfect! Spa treatments are the best! From beginning to end you are treated to the best.

Room Tip: Love the rooms with full lake view..also a shorter walk to te spa.

A friend and I spent 3 days at the spa in May. Though Austin is in the middle of a several year drought, we brought the rain! Sadly, because of all the much-needed rain, we weren't able to enjoy the lake sports, but they certainly look fun!
Our room was clean and beautiful. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us to move around without crowding each other. The bath soaps, shampoos, lotions etc. are Lake Austin brand and smell really good!

Our spa services were equally wonderful. Each massage and facial treatment was exactly as described and so very, very relaxing. The spa is airy and well decorated, with a nice cafe on the first floor. The menu at the cafe is different than the menu at the resort dining room, so it's well worth your time to have lunch there during your stay. All the food was really tasty at both dining areas. Portion size was surprising (small) at the main dining room, but completely filling and flavorful, without loads of fat or heavy sauces. The portions at the cafe in the spa are larger. An absolute MUST is their homemade frozen yogurt. They make 2 flavors a day, plus a sorbet. Don't miss any of them!

The staff at the resort couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. We arrived late, after several delays due to weather, but just managed to make our evening spa service. The desk people helped us order room service so that we would have a chance to get food before dining services ended, and helped us "fast track" our check-in.

We were really sad to leave the spa, and will definitely return!

I was looking for a spa to take my mother, but when my husband read about Lake Austin he wanted to go with me instead. It turned out to be an amazing, relaxing time for both of us. The rooms were set up such that two women could easily go and maintain privacy discreetly, and also had a more southwestern flair that I find more attractive and comfortable than "Victorian" type spas. There were so many events and classes scheduled that I felt a little rushed, and many should have been an hour rather than 30 minutes because the instructors seemed rushed as well. I suppose it is because of the huge variety of classes and activities offered. The food was awesome (and we are so picky that we rarely eat out because our cooking is usually better) and the service was so personal that we felt like we had our own butler (we still pine for Rudy!) Every detail was flawless, there were no spiderwebs or dust anywhere (difficult in such a beautiful outdoor setting) and everyone was so friendly it felt as if we had known them forever. The spa treatments were rather pricey so you need to resign yourself in advance not to think about it. We decided this will be our "go-to" place when we need a stress escape and don't have anything planned (used to be Sonoma County.)

Room Tip: If you don't like dogs, ask for a room away from rooms that permit them.
