The playground close to the pool is spacious and wasn't too crowded. The zilch ear zephyr was a bug thrill for our 1 and 3 year old

This a great place for the young kiddos to run around.

Some of my kiddos favorite things include:
1. Just running around the playground.
2. Train ride (about 20 min. long) and enjoyable for adults as well - bring hats and sunscreen as it is uncovered.
3. On the weekends there is a balloon man who comes and makes balloons for tips.
4. Fruit Popsicles from the snack bar
5. Bird seed from the snack bar to feed the pigeons.

There are also picnic tables where you can bring lunch and enjoy being outdoors -
You can also watch people swim at Barton springs down below.

(Fees are for some of the activities mentioned above and you sometimes have to pay for parking).

Lots of room to run and play with diverse activities. Our kids loved the train ride ($2 per person and ~20 minutes) and playing at the park. Canoe rentals are available which was a great activity for our day. Overall kids had a blast and a good use of an afternoon and seeing the beauty of Austin.

My first experience in the park was the Barton Springs pool. On a hot July day in Austin, the cool water is soothing. Beyond that, I spent quite a bit of time cycling and hiking along the green belt. To be honest, part of why I fell in love with Austin was this park.

It has great fields for playing sports, and a really good track. Double check and see if the clubhouse is open, awesome view of Austin!
