Took an afternoon to walk the trail around the lake over the holidays. Clean and well traveled. People were in Kayaks on the lake and there was a tour boat playing music. Lots of turtles on the shore as well. The bats were not around (they leave around October-November). Had fun with the kids on the walk.

Iconic location near downtown, with the Congress (bat) bridge overlooking the lake and a running trail around the perimeter. Good as a tourist spot and for locals too. Lots of open space to just check out the area and relax or work out too. Many boat locations along the shore so that you can go rent a boat or something to play on the lake itself. Also, there are some more formal boat cruise places and even the bat cruise dock just next to the Hyatt.

Well worth checking out.

Town lake is a great place to get your exercise without leaving toe center of Austin. The paths are well cared for and there are always plenty of people out for various types of exercise.

Families, dogs, cyclists...easy going visitors and locals all enjoying a Sunday outside. This bridge designed to “hang out” on features views of the city skyline, lake and miscellaneous musicians.

We didn't do any water sports but people were kayaking and paddle boarding. Looked nice. And nearby if you're staying downtown. Hence the name.
