Town Lake is aka Lady Bird Lake, and it's been a runner's and biker's place for decades. One doesn't have to be a runner or a cyclist to enjoy.

Surrounded by the hike & bike trail (and now called Lady Bird Lake, ahem!!) this is a beautfiul body of water that runs through Austin. Kayaks, crew boats, canoes, party boats and all kinds of water craft share politely and have a great time. Canoe rentals available. Have fun!!

Rent a paddle board, kayak, or canoe. Grab a few drinks, throw in soft sided cooler and have a cool blast on the water.

Town Lake, or Lady Bird Lake as it's now called, is the perfect place to "escape" the city while still being in the heart of it.

If you like to fish, you'll love this lake as there is almost no fishing pressure too. There are also no powered motor boats either, save for the one or two rowing coaches in the water.

The water is also surprisingly clean, though after a rain there can be some trash.

This is a gem in Austin. There are always people on the lake doing a variety of things. The Fourth of July fireworks are great reflecting off the water and high rise buildings.
