We are a family of four with two children...ages 9 and 7. They love sofa beds so we got a King w/sofa bed. Wow. It was SO small...uncomfortably small. Thankfully, due to our event, we were not there much. The bed was very comfortable. There is no frig or microwave in the room. The hot tub and pool were nice. The hotel is across the street from Gateway Mall which has a few restaurants. There is no breakfast included but they have a Starbucks which serves food and coffee beverages that can be charged to your room. They DO NOT accept Starbucks gift cards which was a disappointment. However, I wish I had gotten the name of the sweetheart behind the counter at Starbucks on Saturday morning 8/17/13. She listened to me talk to my husband and made egg white scramble with turkey sausage and fruit instead of toast to leave off gluten. She was so pleasing and nice. The cleanliness leaves some room for improvement. There was a Dorito on the floor under our coffee table when we checked in (which we didn't have) and it was still there on Sunday morning even with them coming in to tidy up on Saturday.

Room Tip: King with sofa bed is small for families.

We went to Austin on a Birthday Wine tasting trip and had a great time. The Room was up to date clean. Everyone on the customer service team was nice. Cyber cafe food was not bad, but i did pay $2.79 for a Pepsi 16oz. There are a lot of places near by to go out an eat.

The bad: charging for WiFi, just ridiculus when even holiday inn express usually gives it for free.
The rooms were clean and well maintained although my wife got locked in the bathroom.
The good: my wife got out of the locked bathroom in a timely manner fortunately because the maintenance staff went out of their way to fix it quickly.

The hotel was fine, but the customer service was better than i have found in many 5 star hotels. All members of the staff from maids to waitresses to front desk personnel were unfailingly friendly and courteous. They went out of their way to be helpful. I will come back here, not because of the rooms, which were average, but because of the attitude of service by the employes of the hotel.

Stayed here 4 days while traveling for work. The rooms were clean and spacious. There is a cyber cafe in the lobby that sells Starbucks and offers free wifi. Internet access in room was $12.95 a day...way too much especially when hosting a large conference like ours. The staff was friendly, no complaints there. There is a restaurant on site, but we ventured out to cheaper options across the street. One downside is the location. It's nowhere near downtown Austin or the UT main campus. you will need a car if you plan on sightseeing. If not, there will be expensive cabs or lengthy bus rides.
