“So many bats !!!!!”

Loved it!!!! It was a beautiful evening. The bats come out at dusk or a little after. A local told me to cross the bridge and park the car. I followed to locals directions and it led me to the bike trail by the water under the bridge. Only locals viewing there, tourists were on top of bridge and you could see the bats taking of right from their sleeping quarters :)

“Great Family Attraction”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

This is a great FREE thing to do with kids. I suggest taking a blanket & picnic and sitting in the grass by the newspaper building. There are no public restrooms so be sure to go before you head to the bridge. Parking is open to the public and free after 6:00 at the newspaper parking lot. We were prepared with bug spray but surprisingly didn't need it. August would be better than June to see more bats. Great learning experience for kids!

“Amazing phenomenon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Our daughter, who lives in Leander, took us to see the bats at the Congress Street bridge when we were visiting there in the fall of 2009. It was amazing to see about a bazillion bats come out right on cue soon after the sun went down. I had read on the internet the facts on how many bugs they eat and other interesting statistics. The only thing was it was very difficult to photograph because of the light (or I should say, lack of) and other conditions.

“No bat guarantee”

We did the boat tour and hung around for 2 hours but no bats of any monumental size. Big disappointment.

We walked down the path from the Four Seasons hotel. (We have watched from TGI Fridays and the bridge...all are really wonderful views of an amazingly phenonome. )
