You have to view this to believe it and be prepared because there will be a crowd. Gather at sundown and be ready for the millions of bats that come flying out from under the bridge. Children LOVE the action. It is a favorite of tourists and locals alike. Get there early

There is a feeling of community as you gather for the launch. It is almost like the sunset party in Key West each day. People from all over the world show up to see the bats darken the sky as they leave to gobbel up insects. I think The Four Seasons has the best vantage point. It is fun even if the bats change their mind.

It is so fun to see the bats come out in the evening! Do stay up on the bridge. I went down close to the river by the Austin American Statesman office and the bats come out very very close to you and seem to be touching the top of your head! I definitely won't be standing under the bridge again!

We had a long long wait, but no bats to be seen. And no seating, so bring chairs to wait for 2 hours. Bats must have flown to mexico the day before, oh well

This is an amazing experience to see the thousands of bats all flowing out from under the bradge at the same time. Since it is a popular event be sure to get there early to find parking.
