“Great Value”

Great price for a small apartment type room. You get way more than a standard hotel room for the same price. Quality room with nice amenities...just make sure you ask for a non-smoking room/floor.

Overall, this is a nice place to stay. We where in a room with a Queen & sleeper sofa. This included a small kitchen area with full supplies included, stove, frig., microwave, sink, coffee maker as well as plates, cups, utensils, etc. Everything you need to stay awhile, or to stay in and not eat out during your stay here. The staff was great, and they allow pets in this hotel.

There is a small shop near the office to purchase food if you don't want to run to the store (HEB is only about 5 mins. away), including frozen meals such as Lean Cuisine, plenty of snacks, as well as soda and beer.

There is a nice sitting area with a fireplace and big screen in the lobby and a nice pool area, and either a basketball or tennis court (not sure which did not go out there).

The breakfast was a typical hotel free breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc, but on the nicer side of the scales. I have not had much better on the free breakfast, but I have had worse.

There is free Wifi, however, it was spotty in the room, kept discounting and I had to sit in one place in the room to get it to log on at all. In the lobby area it was fine. There is an Ethernet available in the room, but no cable. And when I asked if they had any ethernet cables available due to having problems with the wireless, I was told no cables available, and they were aware the router was having problems.

The bed was good, not the best I ever slept on, but better than some more expensive hotels I've been in. The pillows were those overly soft ones that get flat after laying on them a minute or two. So if you like flat pillows, you will love them.

As another review noted, the only shuttle is the one to the airport (at least 10 mins away), and it would have been nice to have one available for other locations, maybe to/from 6th street for a night on the town, when you might not want to be driving back...

Also, as noted by another reviewer, this is NOT right around the corner from most commonly visited locations in Austin, it is about 15 mins from the UT campus when there is NO traffic (and in Austin that is rare on the freeway).

One other note, this area appears to be new and older GPS directions seem to take you around the long way. I suggest checking out directions online with Google or Mapquest to get the most up-to-date directions. Even Google Maps bypasses John Glen Way which runs right on the side of the hotel.

Overall nice place, would return, and would recommend.

I am writing this review because upon checking our mother in law into this hotel yesterday we discovered numerous dead bugs throughout her room. There was one inch long carcass in the middle of the room! At first we thought it was a stain and I just ignored it, but once I realized what it was - either a cricket or a cockroach - I had to do a thorough investigation of the rest of the room. That is when we saw the rest of them behind the bed and the couch. Staff was nice enough when we reported the problem and offered an upgraded new room. However, there stock line was "we just sprayed last week". Um, if you have to spray for bugs that means you have a serious bug problem and are not a place I want to stay! Just a warning to all of you out there to please check your linens before climbing into bed here!

Everything is great. Staffs are really friendly and attending. Especially staffs who serve breakfast.
I enjoyed breakfast and sunset happy hours.
My wishlist?
if the hotel can run one or two shuttles to downtown, shopping area, conference sites, that definitely bring more guest to this fabulous places. I would not mind to pay for it.

I've stayed at other STAYBRIDGE SUITES in Austin before, and the overall upkeep and room amenities between the Austin Airport STAYBRIDGE don't see a huge difference. Compared to the likes of HAMPTON INN's and HILTON GARDEN INN's, STAYBRIDGE Suites typically would have smaller elevators and someone they're always located at different areas of the premises. This isn't an outstanding issue but once you have stayed at the competition, you'll know the difference.

STAYBRIDGE Suites is famed for their breakfasts, but not really outstanding by comparison to the likes of RESIDENT'S INN or HOMEWOOD SUITES. In fact, the 3 are quite similar in many ways in terms of the breakfast buffet offerings.

The Austin Airport STAYBRIDGE is not actually at the airport, but is off Riverside Drive in South Austin, approx a 5 - 10 minute drive from Bergstrom airport depending on traffic. There is literally nothing on the block of the hotel except residential homes. The biggest problem I encountered is the fact that there simply aren't enough parking spaces to accomodate for all tenants. When I showed up upon check-in, I was told to park along the fire-lane or behind their off-duty hotel shuttle. There were cars parked outside the premises along the dark residential streets. Given the number of rooms to the hotel, they really should have made for more parking areas so tenants wouldn't have to drive around before having to resort to parking in illegal parking spaces.

Overall, the hotel is a good choice if you have an early flight out of Bergstrom. But there are other choices within a 3 minute drive that are closer to the airport.

This is a wonderful places and we loved our living- and bedroom. We didn't use the kitchen but it has all you need for a longer stay like a fridge, micro wave, dishwasher. Snacks and drinks for free in the afternoon and a very good breakfast this morning with fruit, waffles, bagles, yoghurt, bacon and more. For us it was more than enough. Nice looking swimming pool and 2 BBQ's. Staff was friendly too.

Overall, this is a nice place, but it is a bit noisy - think walls? Right now at 8am on Monday morning, while in my 2nd floor room, I can hear the music and tv playing downstairs in the restaurant area.

Breakfast was "ok".. Pretty typical of the "hot" breakfast served by most places but it apparent that a lot of the offerings were "sysco" frozen/reheated. Good coffee, bu highly suggared cereals.

The room was clean, but the doors could use a good scrubbing. There was no soap dish/ledge in the shower to place soap or glasses.....a minor nit, but I hate putting my glasses on the shower door. The staff appeared friendly.

Location good for airport but about 7 miles to get anywhere in Austin. Also, there's NO place to walk around here at all. Also, keep in mind, because this is a stay bridge, you get VERY limited maid/room cleaning service.
