This place was a sort of hidden gem. Admission was very reasonable, and our 8-year old had a great time. They had some fish that we had never seen before, a short show with a diver feeding the fish, and a pond with catch and release fishing that we all enjoyed. Only one of our party of four caught anything, but we had a great time trying. All the staff were friendly, and we had a great several hours there.

The Texas Freshwater Fisheries was a great time for the adutls and kids alike. The first part of the building is a walking tour of different habiltats and features some really big catfish. Bring a couple bucks in quarters to buy some feed. The rest has some fun museum style exhibits. You can take a trolley ride around the fish ponds but I would skip that next time. In the back there is a fishing pond and you can get some equipment to fish with from the Rangers. There was some lightning in the area the day we were there so I cannot tell you if the actual fishing is any good. Does it really matter? I did see a walking trail but coudlnt say anything about it. There is plenty of open space for picknicking and lots of tables.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how interesting and interactive this place was. Great displays, large aquariums, and fishing ponds. I did not leave enough time to do it justice and plan to return.

Extensive educational displays. Fishing fun for kids and grownups. Nature trail for walkers. This is a well kept, first class place for the family to spend the day.

This is a great place to go if you have a love for fishing or just want to do something different. Very informative. We enjoyed feeding the catfish.
