“Delicious - but don't order the sea scallops/shrimp dish unless you're anorexic!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2009

We went to Cacharel today at lunch to celebrate my birthday. Of the five of us, three of us got the pecan crusted chicken which was simply delicious ($13.95)! One of us got the penne pasta with chicken (had a red pepper cream sauce) ($14.95?) and it was well-portioned. But, unfortunately, one of us got sea scallops and shrimp ($16.75). I kid you not, there were TWO SMALL shrimp and TWO SMALL SCALLOPS on her plate! It came with a molded (formed) eggplant side. We all had to take food off our plates to give to her, as she did not have enough to eat!

The bread provided was delicious, and good to fill up on b/c other than the pasta dish the others weren't very large! We ordered chocolate and Grand Marnier souffles ($6.75) , which were heavenly (you must order them at the beginning of the meal to give them time to prepare). The creme brulee' was also good but not great ($6.75).

Overall, the meal was nice, but it was hard to move past the skimpy seafood plate - the most expensive thing we ordered. It kind of put a damper on the mood... We didn't say anything to the waiter as it would have made things uncomfortable, but my Dad (who bought) says he's mad enough to write a letter to the restaurant to complain (I've NEVER heard him say this before in my life!).

It was very quiet there, with classical music playing in the background. The lunch crowd was very light - we were the only ones there until about 12:20pm!

“A great dinning experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2009

We went to Cacharel for a romantic dinner and to take a step up from the normal resraurants. We were very pleased with the experience. We considered several other restaurants, but liked the menu and price options at Cacharel. You can order form the Steak menu, or order the 3 course meal from a variety of great choices. We chose the 3 course meal, and it was great. The chocolate souffle is outstanding. We highly recommend the Cacharel.

Excellent continental cuisine. We like to go so we can order in French. It is a notch or two above Marsala, but I wish the menu was more seasonal so there was something different when I went back. The restaurant is upstairs in an office building (the one that houses the WBAP studio). They have an interesting view out over I-30 to Six Flags Over Texas. The view is doubly fascinating these days what with all the construction on the turnpike. They have a prix fixe dinner menu for $48.50 for appetizer, main course and dessert. The chocolate soufflé for desert is really good. They will ask you about it at the beginning of the meal. Note that some items on the prix fixe menu have a supplemental charge.
They also have an a la carte grill menu featuring steaks, buffalo and ostrich (!). Dinner with wine is going to set you back $75 to $100 per person. The three course lunch daily special is $18.50.
