This is a typical small-town Texas locally-owned cafe. You can count on good chicken-fried steak, cheeseburgers, and fries. They were a bit stingy with the onion rings (only 5!), especially since they upcharge for them as a sub for fries. We were there at lunch time on a Friday and it was packed full. The waitstaff was kind of slow with drink refills and forgetting to bring the requested to-go boxes until reminded twice, then were also slow with the check. The food was good, but I wouldn't go if you're in a hurry.
