“Good food, slow service”

Came for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated quickly. That is the last time anything was done quickly. Our waiter came by but wasn't ready to take our order. The rest of the experience was just as poor. Our meal took a long time to be served, the drinks were never checked for refills and while the staff did come by and ask how we were doing, the took a long time to follow through. The food was good but much of it was room temperature as if it had been sitting for a while.

“Casual Italian”

We like to meet friends here for dinner and drinks before heading off to the nearby movie theater. The food is generally good, fairly consistent. The service however, is not. Sometimes we get great service, other times, not. The chicken gorgonzola is a perennial favorite of mine. I also love the peach bellinis. Get there early on a weekend night or plan to spend a lot of time in the bar.

“Had high expectations, but it was average”

Overall decent, but mostly unremarkable. The "spaghetti with meatballs" was served without meatballs. When I pointed this out the waiter gladly brought me some meatballs. We used to have a Carino's in Scottsdale but this wasn't up to par with that one.

“Short-changed on our bill...awful experience. Don't go here!”

We made a point to go here as we've enjoyed the food and service at other locations. However, this was a bad, bad choice. Our food was good but the service was unprofessional, immature and shoddy. We waited several minutes to be seated; they were not that busy, had a lot of staff but no one acknowledged us so we went into the bar. One of the bartenders, Stephen, was in-your-face aggressive and had a canned spiel that made me dizzy. We were browsing the menu and deciding on wine choices and he just kept interrupting with questions about appetizers, bread, etc. He seemed miffed when we didn't comply to his agenda and walked away. When we were ready he was no where to be seen. In the meantime several of the servers congregated in a back area and were discussing personal matters, loud enough to hear details that shouldn't have been privy to the public. Later, a server was making fun of a gentleman who brought roses to his date at the restaurant. Stephen was going off duty and said the other bartender, Chris, would finish taking care of us. Our bill came to 62.55 which my husband paid with a fifty, a twenty and two ones. Chris returned to the point of sale and Stephen shows back up, saying he forgot his phone charger. The two of them were at the point of sale together. Chris came back over with a fifty, a ten and the two ones and told my husband he was .55 in short. My hub is a former banker and is very precise in everything he does, especially money matters He isn't above error but was certain he didn't have any tens in his wallet. However, what do you do in a situation like this...one word against another - he gave Chris additional money. We asked for the manager on duty when we left, waited several minutes and were about to leave when she finally showed up. We told her what happened and that we weren't looking for any freebie but thought she, as manager, should be made aware of possible cheating of customers. I was not impressed with her lack of assertiveness, responses or acknowledgement and now understand why the staff acted the way they did. We will probably go to other Carino's but sure as heck will NEVER, EVER go to the one in Amarillo.

“Good value, good food, decent wine list”

Had both a lunch and a dinner at this restaurant. Lunch pricing was very good, with lots of choices. Dinner was very good, with a decent selection of domestic and international wines.
