El Bracero consistently serves authentic Mexican (and a little Tex-Mex) that is spicy, flavorful and attractively priced. The place is clean, but nothing fancy. I think Jaime, the owner, makes the salsa fresh every morning. But here's the standout: Parrillada. It's about $40, but easily feeds three or four people. You choose your meats (three), and they grill it all up and serve it family-style in a big grill pan on your table, along with sides and condiments for everyone to dig into at will. Meat selections include quail, which many people say is the best in town. There's lots of Mexican dining in Amarillo, but these little locally-owned places far outshine the chains.
