“Decent Experience”

Community ares were nice and my room was decorated with warm fall colors and dark wood furniture. Restroom had minor facility maintenance issues that were in the process of being resolved. If you like to appreciate older hotels for their aging glory, this will be a decent stay.

Needs a complete refurbishing. Door chipped and cracked, hair dryer did not work, toilet seat broken, room smelled mildewy, towels a dingy gray. Very limited breakfast selection.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

Fifth Season used to be both good value and fun place to stay. No more. Back rooms are disgusting with holes in curtains and broken lamps and burned lamp shades. We moved up to more expensive rooms toward front of hotel which are much better furnished but need lots of maintenance. Looks like the maintenance crew has abandoned ship. "Free hot breakfast" is marginally better than junk food like one would get at McDonald's but still inedible. It's a pity. We don't get in that area often but always liked the Fifth Season but we've stopped there for the last time.

On our way to Spring Training with friends, we decided to stop at amarillo without realizing that 90% of amarillo was booked during that weekend. The plasma at the front desk showing pictures of the rooms was sure a falls advertisement.
The smell was like they let a roach BOMB all over the building, The parking lot had old matresses at the garbage area, The MOLD that was all over the rooms, and whole building, The beds had smoke odor and very dusty.
I am shoked they are some brave folks out their that they actually stayed there. My family and friends were not that BRAVE, we decided to safe our lungs, prevent lice attack, and all other diseases we would catch sleeping the night their.

**** IF THEIR ARE SOME SMART FOLKS OUT THEIR DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT STAY AT THIS NASTY PLACE******

This place is a dump. It may be worth the 39.99 that their marquee shows, but not a penny more. Our room had mold in the shower, stains on sheets, burn marks on the lamp and a very dangerous feeling entry. The bathroom door was dented and chipped. The bathroom floor mouling had missing pieces and the doorstop was a rusted piece of metal--looked like a bolt maybe. The pool looked cloudy...but we did see someone cleaning it...it was cloudy after the cleaning though. Check out the photos below. We have more of the mold in the shower and damaged bathroom door and burn spots on the lamp but they'd only let me submit 3.

We got our vehicle broke into. Half of the lights in our room did not have bulbs. Filled out police report on break in. If you trasure your family and their safe well being, do not stay here. Their was shattered glass next to where our vehicle was. Appartently another break in. I am a Christian man and would not say terrible things about an establishment if it was not true. I see this Hotel being shutdown within the year. Hope this helps because if it saves a window or not a life ,it would be worth it.

Like many others who have commented on this hotel, my family and I ended up at this unbelievably disgusting place after seeing a misleading picture in an ad. We were further duped by a very impressive front entrance. (We did get a chuckle out of the electronic sign out front advertising great rates for "New Year's Eve." But it turns out, that should have been a warning to us to never step foot in that place. These people pay absolutely zero attention to any detail other than maintaining a very pleasant first impression and collecting customer's money before they discover the nightmare that is the REST of the building.)

Among the problems that we experienced: fleas throughout the building (particularly bad in the pool area), pubic hairs in the bed, a frighteningly unconcerned response to our report of a burning odor and smoke in the hallway outside our room; no waste basket in the room, no bathtub stopper in the room, missing power switch on the television (which we could not turn off until we finally located the remote underneath a nightstand), brown stains on the towels (wow!), loose safety bar on the bathtub and a laugh from the clerk when I told him that my handicapped father had nearly pulled the bar right off the wall when he tugged on it with all his weight, missing legal notices on the front door, atrociously unsightly lack of paint on the door, broken door threshold that let in plenty of cold air and posed a significant tripping hazard, unsightly rips in the carpet all throughout the building, busted lamp shades throughout the building, amazingly incompetent paint trim work throughout the building, broken heater, no ice machine, callous night clerk who said all the negative online comments about his hotel don't bother him, stupid security guy who didn't understand why it would be a problem for his hotel to not post the legal notices that can be found in every other hotel room in the state (even the ones that charge an hourly rate, if you know what I mean).

I shudder to think that, without the coupons that my family used for our two rooms, we would have been fooled by the beautiful entrance into paying more than $55 for our breathtakingly bad rooms. We ended up paying $43 for each of the rooms, and, for that price, we weren't expecting the Taj Mahal. But I guarantee that several of the places that we passed up that offered rooms as low as $29 would have done a MUCH better job of meeting the basic expectations that travelers have from a hotel.

To the good people of Amarillo: You would do well to ask your local code enforcement people to pay this place a visit. I feel quite confident that many health and safety violations would be found and, perhaps, a few fines would be just the thing to get the owners motivated to clean up this very embarrassing blight on your fair city.

All I can say is, "Wow! This place is INCREDIBLY bad!"
