This is probably the most popular BBQ place in Texas - you can already see their signs before you even enter Texas ;)

Inside, it's exactly what you expect it to be. The main entrance is extremely touristy - I guess that's part of the game. The main restaurant is actually quite good. We had a fantastic steak. And it's fun to see the eating challenge - apparently there's usually at least one per night. By the way, the desserts are huge and extremely sugary ;)

Great food...great craft beer...great tourist stop...what else could you ask for. The gift shop is reasonably priced also. I'd consider this a must if you're planning a trip anywhere near Amarillo

This is more of a tourist attraction. Can't recommend it for dining however. The steaks were very low quality and did not taste quite right, and we had to wait over an hour for our food. Waiter was courteous and professional though. Plenty to see inside. Just eat somewhere else.

I'd like to start by saying some aspects were better than others. We went on a Thursday afternoon at about 5:00 p.m. so it wasn't too crowded. Our server was awesome. The decor is in the style of the old west which is pretty cool. We had the ribs appetizer, which was awesome. I have to say the steak was good but bland. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the best I've ever had! I only tried two of their craft beers (Pecan Porter and Whiskey Barrel Stout), but they were both excellent! The gift shop has some souvenirs. We're glad we went but it isn't something we'd probably do again; although, I would gladly go back for the beer.

This place looks like a tourist trap from the outside, but is well worth stopping and eating. The steaks were excellent and their self-made beers were good as well.

If you're luck you can watch someone try the 72oz steak challenge. We saw three people try and one actually finished.

Be sure to check out the back patio. There's bar, small stage for music, and games.
