our tour bus stopped here for dinner with reservations. we had to wait about half an hour and they directed us to the gift shop-no surprise there!! Very touristy stuff. No sale for me! We had a set menu of chicken fried steak, salad, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Since this seemed to be popular on the reviews here, we were fine with that. It was very good. I would have liked to taste a steak there, but it probably would have been less that expected since there were so many of us. There was water set out at each place setting and we were given ranch dressing. my wife hates that type, so it took 10 min to get a waitress to bring her some French. We never did catch a waitress to bring us a beer or iced tea. Can't remember what we had for dessert, so it must have been average. maybe it was a scoop of vanilla ice cream. there were 2 young men trying to finish the 72 oz. steak, but they couldn't do it. Now we can say we finally visited this place and won't need to return.

The food is good - steaks are tender and cooked exactly as requested. Atmosphere is wonderful! This is a FUN place to eat - the service is friendly, the waiters/waitresses are in cowboy outfits, and there is even a roving country music combo. My prime rib was large and served warm, my wife enjoyed the ribeye steak. Side dishes are well-presented and appealing. Drinks were good (full bar). PLUS, they offer free limo service from several of the nearby hotels, motels, and RV parks...

My husband and I shared the 20oz Sirloin special and brought steak home. Good value for a shared meal. Great selection of beers but not so much on the wines. Had a bottle of Merlot and it was OK. Used the limo service to/from Amarillo Ranch RV Resort. Interesting things in the gift shop. Easy access to/from I-40.

We stopped at the motel (room decorated like a bunkhouse, lots of wood and leather) and ate at the steak house across the parking lot. There was lots of meat (a steak house, right), but it was really nothing special. We've had better. The atmosphere is interesting, especially the animal heads looking down on you as you eat your steak. There's a gift shop, of course. We didn't return for breakfast.

Fun place to visit, food was just average and nothing to rave about it. But, the atmosphere and place are fun. You'll get a belly full , but it won't be cheap. Place is definitely showing it's age.
