Nothing fancy. But fantastic. Watch out for the Hot Sauce. HOT.Great hot sauce. Service is great and food is also. Simmered pork is tasty and tender. Beans yummy. Potatoes excellent. Highly recommend. Buffet on Friday.

“Go hot or go home”
Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

I had the green chili burrito supreme and mollie had the posole soup. Both were great! Old building right off the canyon expressway.

“Not Tex Mex, thank goodness”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

In Amarillo on a long business trip and everyone assumes I want Tex Mex. No! I want to eat things I can't eat anywhere else. This restaurant is plain on the outside, but friendly and lively on the inside. I had something I'd never had before--a chicharron burrito. Really yummy. Not crunchy like a fried pork rind, but unctuous and rich. Their posole was good too and I am going to go back to try their nopales. So you can tell already, this isn't dumbed down Mexican. The salsa was spicy and delicious and the chips clearly had been fried recently.

The food WAS hot, but by no means unbearably so. Restaurant is kind of tucked out of the way, but isn't far from Amarillo College.

“Great Food”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

The food is great traditional Mexican dishes. Old building. None of the chairs match and most the tables wobble. Great buffet on Friday

“Killer traditional Mexican food!”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

Traditional chili relleno's and home made tortillas that are very good. Clean diner type atmosphere. Moderate prices and plenty of food and oh yeah the chili verde is some of the best.
