“Great hotel - comfortable & friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

I stayed for one night as part of my trip on Route 66. Not only was it excellent value for money, it was everything you would expect from a Staybridge Suite. Friendly, helpful ad more importantly comfortable. What more can I say.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights in April and loved every minute of it! Staff was very friendly and helpful, Rooms spotless clean and very tasteful, beds were soooo comfy, we even had fully equipped kitchen! Breakfast was included, which we didn't know in the beginning. There was also light complimentary dinner on three days in the middle of the week! The Pool was a bit to cold but we loved the jacuzzi, it was really hot - great when it's freezing cold outside. This place is really great!

Staybridge Suites has new-looking, attractive, comfortable, spacious suites at an affordable price as well as a few nice amenities in a convenient location.

Decor is contemporary in earthy tones and furnishings are nice as are the draperies and artwork. It is a lovely, very pleasant place to be. This is not common in Amarillo which seems to home to many a mediocre hotel. Lighting, electrical outlets and A/C were adequate and functioned just fine.

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite. The bedroom is separated from the living space by a door. Bed was comfy and included both a duvet and a blanket so you had a choice. It has a nice, small-scale club chair with a demi-lune ottoman and a big TV on a nice chest of drawers.

Bathroom had plenty of very hot water with a decent showerhead. Single sink with a great faucet was on a granite counter. Closet space has real doors, not sliders, and was fitted with shelves down one side. Bath tile is a matte black contemporary style.

Kitchen has a full size fridge, two burner glass range top, microwave, toaster and dinner service for 3 as well as pots and pans. It has frosted glass doors on the cabinets, as well as granite countertops throughout the kitchen and on the dining bar which has two upholstered bar chair/stools and a good light over it. Backsplash has "subway" style tile and wood floor.

Living area, which is carpeted in contemporary carpet tiles, has a sectional style sofa and two versatile ottomans with tray tops/soft tops and storage. Another chest of drawers in this room was also topped by another large TV. The living area includes a desk with a hutch over it and a nice office style, "ergonomic" desk chair.

Hotel staff are very friendly, courteous and professional. Hotel public spaces are lovely.
The business center is very nicely furnished and includes use of their 3 Mac computers for free! The pool is indoor and housed in its own building - so no pool noise. There is a nice courtyard area with grills. They also have little storage closets on the first floor you can use while a guest here - never have seen that before but could be very handy for certain travelers, I guess.

Across the street is Blue Sky which has outstanding burgers and fresh cut fries and onion rings which may come in very handy to you because the food here is the only negative. The breakfast has powdered eggs and watered down juice, so you get the picture. But you'll never eat bad food in a more pleasant atmostphere! We did not try the evening meal after our breakfast experience. This location is also handy to a number of restaurants. Check the reviews, though, not everything is great but some are.

Overall, though, this is your best stop in Amarillo and a really good one anywhere.

Room Tip: The one-bedroom gives you a door between the living area and the sleeping area.

I choose this hotel because of past stays at StayBridge Hotels and it was less than one year old. Thinking a new hotel would be great was far from the truth. While this hotel could be very good, we had the tolet paper holder falling out of the wall, the bars on the glass shower doors were very loose and the bathroom sink faucet could spring around if the pipes below would allow it. Even the "Elevator" sign in the hallway was falling out of the wall. I guess this what happens with new construction now days. This won't stop me from staying at other Staybridge hotels but I was surely disappointed in this stay. It doesn't take much for the housekeeping to notify maintenance -- assuming maintenance gives a rip.

Room Tip: Strange entrance from the street to the hotel.

My girls and I had a long drive and got caught in a horrible dust storm. We pulled off into Amarillo and decided to stay the night at Staybridge. They got us into a room immediately, the price was great for the value, our room was big, beautiful and my kids were excited. There was a pool that was used and plenty of places nearby to eat at. It really was a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.

I stayed here two nights on business. I'm not sure when this hotel opened, but it still has that new smell and looks great. The rooms were well set up and clean. With free breakfast, a light supper on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and free drinks, I consider this a great value. If I am back in the area, I will stay here.

On my way back to Dallas from Red River skiing, and wanted to brek up the 11 hour drive. Decided to give this place a try with my family of 4. The only had a king plus pull out bed is what we were told, so we made it work. My wife and little one hit the king, and my teenager took the pull out couch. Both were very comfortable, great pillows, nice comfy bed to complete the good night sleep in a nice air conditioned room!

Breakfast buffet the next morning included a Texas shaped waffle maker, good eggs and sausage, and the orange juice was really good as well. Happy family before we hit the road again makes for some easy driving for the last 7 hours!

Two thumbs up and very satisfied. Highly recommend!
