We keep it Salt & Pepper Simple and make everything from scratch with love. Daily lunch specials are delicious and affordable. Large TV's are perfect for watching sports. Come sample our extensive list of local, national and international beers. We love to cater weddings, birthdays and office parties. Let us help you plan your perfect event in our "No Bull" party room. Nestled around the fireplace you'll feel warm and welcome from your first bite. Our party room can seat up to 50 but can also be perfect for 12. Happy Hour is from 3PM to 6PM on Monday through Friday. Early to-mid 1800's German settlers, who helped develop the Hill Country of South Texas, also recreated their beloved "hoffbraus"or "beer gardens" where local townspeople, farmers and ranchers gathered to enjoy hearty meals and brewed beverages in a setting that was naturally casual yet humming with conversations and warm friendly service. What began as a "Hoffbrau" in South Texas truly was the origin of the Texas Hill Country Steakhouse... A tradition that our family has continued since opening Hoffbrau Steaks in 1978. Enjoy yourselves, our Texas hospitality... The great steaks and foods for which we are known. Many thanks, The Fogiel Family

“Ok, not special .”
Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

Was taken there on a business dinner. The restaurant was not the cleanest. Waitress was friendly enough. Salad was ok, nothing special. Ordered ribeye steaks med rare. They were cooked to the right temp. Very
little char though and very large pepper seasoning. Broccoli was cooked just right. Beer was cold. I didn't pick up the tab, but I would rather spend s little more and get a lot better steak.

“Good Steak”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

I had the steak and eggs and it was very good. I had the side of mac and cheese which was delicious! The only problem was the beer was priced very high.

“Okay, but not at all impressive”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Food was god but not great or even memorable.

They got off to a bad start with an excessively long wait for anyone to show up at the hostess station to seat people (there were several others in addition to us.

Menu was typical steak house fare, and prices moderate, but not cheap.

Restroom cleanliness was decidedly substandard, and a glace around the dining area showed that little or no effort is made to clean the floors. Open door near restrooms reveal back room area with accumulated trash. I did not see behind the bar or the kitchen, and am not sure I would want to.

Overall, I get the impression that this is a place which may have been quite good in the past, but current management and the employees (most of whom appeared to be very young) do not pay attention the the basics of running a food service business.

Lots of other steak houses in the area, and I think we will try any of them instead of returning to this place.

“A step below outback and Texas road house”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We got there a half hour before closing and the place was empty. I ordered their smoke sirloin. Not much taste and the taste was not smokey but some undiscribible taste. The meat was tough. Salad was good and the peach cubbler was good.

“Best steaks in Texas”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Value of the food and services are excellent. Steak is tender. They have choice of sweet potato or regular potato, we love it! We will look for more Hoffbrau in other location, hopefully service will be as good as this one.
