We were given the wrong room at first--we booked a king and got two double beds. The staff fixed it right away, without question. Points for that!

The king room had a really nice walk-in shower with a rain shower head. (No shower curtain on these, but still discreet if someone else walks in the bathroom.) What we really appreciated, though, were NUMEROUS OUTLETS! It's amazing how many hotels don't provide power strips or something for people (or geeks like us, at least) who carry multiple computers, cell devices, and e-readers. There was also a little shelf in the corner of the room with two complete wall outlets for these items. Good thinking.

The breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, gravy, cereals, muffins/danish, yogurt, toast, waffles) was a nice touch, and the price was right: included!

If we ever come to Amarillo again, we'll stay here.

We stayed at this hotel twice over the past week -- on our way to Colorado and on our way back. Our first experience was less than perfect. The room was fine -- nicely appointed for a budget hotel. However, the breakfast was poor. Poor selection and the waffle iron wasn't working right. When I raised the issue, the woman working there didn't take care of it. However, on our return trip, the breakfast was much better -- including a working waffle iron. The hotel is in the same parking lot as an Outback Steakhouse, so dinner is easy.
Is this the best hotel in Amarillo? Perhaps. But take that with a big grain of salt. It's a good hotel for the price range and location. It's nothing to write home about.

We stopped here on our way back from Colorado with 2 other softball families. The property is gorgeous, and the rooms are very nice (but a little tight with 2 queen beds in them). One family had a musty smelling wet spot on their carper where the A/C had been dripping for a while, and we waited several hours for our room to cool off and dry out completely. The A/C vents in the hallway dripped on you as well. They need to get somebody to balance their A/C needs. The breakfast area is very nice, with a big TV and leather chairs as well as tables where we were playing cards. The front desk ran us out of there at 1030, saying it was really only supposed to be used in the mornings. Okay, if it's not for the guests, why did you put it there. Silly if you ask me.

I stayed one night at this hotel while on the road. It's obviously quite new, and all the furnishings and finishes are clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable. However, I hope the management keeps up with maintenance issues. Two items in my room were already broken: the ironing board and the small in-room coffee maker. I reported them to the front desk when leaving and can only hope these items are replaced. There was free wi-fi and wired (Ethernet) internet service, and a very good TV in the room. The breakfast was, as another reviewer said, kind of junky, but it was free and not out of line with similar hotel offerings.

If I stay there again, I'll request a room that doesn't face the freeway. I'm not unusually sensitive to noise but my room was on the front side of the hotel, and was just a little too noisy for my complete comfort. I'm assuming a room overlooking the back of the hotel might be a little quieter.

The Outback Steakhouse located next door was a good choice for dinner on my one night at the Sleep Inn.

Bottom line: a good value for the room rate I paid, and I'm sure much nicer than many of the other choices along I-40 in Amarillo.

We stopped here on a cross country trip trip and were very pleased. The place was new and immaculately clean. They have a nice small pool and gym. The area is very convenient, right off the highway and next door to an Outback.

Just traveling through Amarillo, and booked based on reviews seen here -- it loved up to its billing: an excellent motel for a good value. You can tell when people are working to make their places good.
PS only one downside: junky breakfast food, bur that seems to be par for the course, with a few notable exceptions like one of the Best Westerns in Eureka, California...)

What a great place we found - this hotel had everything we wanted and more - the decor was Hollywood/Deco - the rooms were a good size and the furnishings were beautiful - the bed was so comfortable - more like a 4 star hotel - loved having the happy hour which is Mon-Wed - the staff could not do enough for you - the manager was greeting all the guests during happy hour and gave us the name of a great place for dinner - the pool was a bit small but there was no one there so it was fine - breakfast had a great selection - will defintely stay here again when driving through Amarillo.
