Owner description: This mile-long stretch of road originally belonging to Route 66, now features shops, clubs and restaurants. Favorites include the Nat Ballroom, currently an antiques store, but a former stop for the Big Bands that passed through Amarillo, and the Golden Light Café, where the best hamburgers in town have been served for more than 50 years.

“A must see if you are in Amarillo and enjoy the hunt or quirky.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Store after store of vintage collections . If you enjoy flea market hunts and finds you will be in heaven! For those who do not gain pleasure from such shops, are not into the quirky, then for you it is just an old stretch of old shops.

“Rummage around on the old route...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Lots of eclectic shops line this old part of the famous road...called 6th (street) Ave. by the folks in town. Braceros offers fabulous food as does Cowboy Gelato, if you know you want spicy and hearty meals. Texas Ivy, The Muse, Blue Sage Pottery are among my favorite haunts for gifts or for window shopping.

“So I finally made it”

As a child growing up-one hears about how "oh you have to travel route 66". While I have and towns are small, some run down, didn't see anything that impressed me-give me the interstate 40

“A bit disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

We tried to have breakfast here but could not find one single diner. There was a Philipino restaurant and alot of expensive antique shops. Just a bit disappointing.
