Description: The original Reata Restaurant located in the scenic Davis Mountains of west Texas offers the same fine dining and Legendary Texas Cuisine you can find at the Fort Worth location. Alpine, home to Sul Ross State University is near Texas tourist destination Big Bend National Park and the towns of Marathon, Fort Davis and Lajitas. Alpine is also a short drive from Marfa, Texas renowned both for the mysterious Marfa Lights and Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation. Reata, named after the legendary ranch in the James Dean classic movie, “Giant”, which was filmed in nearby Marfa, boasts the same high quality Southwestern dining you can find in Fort Worth. This is not food for the faint of heart, from Chicken Fried Steak to Calf Fries or the Pepper Crusted Tenderloin and Cowboy Rib Eye Steak, this is a dining experience not to miss. Today, Reata Alpine remains a true destination restaurant, attracting loyal diners from miles beyond the charming converted farmhouse where our Legendary Texas Cuisine was born.

The salad greens were fresh and crisp, the tenderloin truly tender and perfectly cooked to my request. Attention from staff and pleasant atmosphere was very nice.

It is wonderful to find this kind of restaurant in a small town. Food is always good and very creative. Good wine list.

Good food, good service and the patio was very nice. I had salmon and it was very good. If you have the opportunity to have dinner at the Reata Restaurant to not pass up the dessert.

We had a great steak, jalapeno grits, roasted asparagus, and delicious margaritas.
The courtyard underneath the Wisteria arbor was gorgeous.

We were in town for spring break in the Big Bend area and, as we always, we made the Reata one of our stops. It did not disappoint. Salads, vegetables, the steaks--were all great. The hospitality is very West Texas friendly but the staff is also extremely efficient and knowledgeable. We had the tres leches cake for dessert (made that day, as are all of their desserts). Definitely one of the top ten desserts I've had in many years.
