Stopped in here based on some tripadvisor reviews and couldn't have been more pleased. The menu was surprisingly varied and there were some great cold adult beverages to sample. Service food, and drinks were awesome. Most certainly going to be back at some point.

We loved our road trip to Alpine and Fort Davis over spring break this year but were dumbfounded by how early everything closed. I mean, I understand both are small towns but 5:00? Thankfully, Trip Advisor came to the rescue. We spent an evening in the hotel (only fast wifi connection in town ;-)) and came up with a list of possibilities for evening relaxation, then, checked our findings with locals.
The Saddle Club was given props for their $6 Tuesday Tacos, full bar, and lively atmosphere. The locals were not so impressed by the prices for drinks or non-Taco Tuesday food. They also warned us about the flexibility of the definition of "taco" meant to the restaurant.
Our group split the difference and 2 of us went to the Saddle Club, and 5 of us (including kids) went across the street to Eric's.

The $6 tacos on our visit were "Shrimp Louis" and were very tasty. The plate is smallish, a la tapas, but also included flavorful pinto beans and white rice. The drinks were particularly delicious-definitely "built" individually- but on the expensive side-$8-$9 each.

The service was exactly what we needed, laid back but attentive and helpful with the drink descriptions and recommendations. Even helped us get a take on who and why and how people moved to this town. We stayed long enough to try several beverages and to order 'Epic Fries' which included brisket (shredded, kinda too sweet), melted cheese, and bacon, over perfectly cooked fries. Yum!

Outdoor seating was nice, but I gave it an "average" score due to smoky factor-no getting away from it or fan/vent system. We liked our indoor table, so no problem.

I love the hand painted details on the walls and cozy bay window seating. Hope they are still around for our next visit!

Love this place! The Saddle Club offers a variety of venues to suit most anyone. Plenty of seating at the bar or among the many tables with chairs & couches makes for a nice atmosphere to visit and relax. Full bar & kitchen offer a variety of drinks & eats. A room upstairs and a patio in the back add to the choice of venues. A nice place to visit old friends and meet new ones!
