“Small but free and informative”

They have a lot of information packed in a small area but it is very interesting and the associate is quite knowledgeable. Donations accepted but not required. Gift shop attached.

“Great stop before you head down to Big Bend”

Very interesting. Gift shop is a real gem. Liked all of the displays, but especially the historical info on dinosaurs.

“Very Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

It was small but also informative. The display's were very well kept. They also have video's so you can get more information if you didn't feel like reading the history. It maybe took and hour to tour the museum but it was very interesting we enjoyed it. It is free but donations are welcome.

“Perfect way to start your visit to the Big Bend Region”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

Small museum, very well designed. Provides history of the land and the people of this very diverse and unique area. School tour arrived just ahead of us (2nd graders), so we visited with the gentleman at the desk while the little guys were put into groups with guides. We learned so much about Alpine, Sul Ross, and the region during our visit, and then were able to listen and learn from the guides, too! The design of the building is unique and worth the stop in and of itself!
