Supports the university and has a great map collection. There are digital video enhancements as well.

“Don't miss it!”

A great place to spend a couple of hours...a wonderful Museum. It has been relocated since our last visit, so be aware of that if you've been there before.

“Great exhibits and introduction to the Big Bend region.”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

This museum provides a great overview of the region, with a focus on archeology. It's in a wonderful 1937 rock building, a product of the Texas Centennial celebration.

“Many artifacts”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Many displays with artifacts. I enjoyed the Stage Coach. The museum is small, about a 30 minute trip to see all areas.

“A/C for hot afternoons!”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Other than being the finest collection of interpretive displays for the region outside of Big Bend National Park's visitors centers.... it's great for kids and adults and history buffs and tourists and anyone seeking escape from the elements or having time to kill. The art exhibits are always worth a peek as well!
