The service is great and the food is ok, but it's right as you get into town and really convenient if you're heading back to the campus (or needing to stay close to it). I hear the burgers are the best in town, but have never made it for anything other than breakfast. But it gets you hooked!

Crowded parking lot so we thought it might be a find. The pancakes were gummy and the eggs were not prepared as ordered. The bacon was very fatty and greasy. Would not return for breakfast again.

We were passing through Alpine ,TX one morning and there are not many options for breakfast in this small town. Magoos was packed with locals so we figured it had to be good. Well, it was not so good. Just average. Nothing to write home about. We had tasteless cheap coffee, bland white pancakes, decent bacon, and a breakfast burrito that was barely one step above taco bell. It has very plain cafteria-like open seating with red vinyl chairs. A slight grease smell hung in the air. The walls were dirty with old food splatter and the restroooms could have used a good scrubbing. Actually the entire place needed a re-model and good washing. This is where true locals come to hang out and eat average cheap processed foods. Nothing special here. We would not likely go back. It was not horrible and if I were starving I would have no problem going back, but otherwise I will pick somewhere else next time. The prices were cheap - thank goodness.

This is the place for breakfast in town. Nothing fancy, just better than the fast food choices.

Real home cooking, friendly service, very reasonable prices. Family run business, homemade salsa, great tortillas. They have other items on the menu as well, everything from cereal for the kids or pancakes. We love their food and they always make you feel welcome. Very casual atmosphere.
