Nice, new hotel in Alpine. Clean, generous sized rooms. Nice complimentary breakfast - eggs, sausage & tortillas one morning and french toast stick another morning. Also cereal, fresh fruit, muffins, etc. Staff very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
We stayed in the Hampton Inn in Alpine while visiting family and friends. Our entire experience was positive - from booking our room directly with the hotel through the checkout.
We booked our room with Jeremy, who was very pleasant and friendly. He also happened to be the person working at the front desk when we checked in. One of this Hampton's ammenities is free cookies in the lobby from 3 - 6 p.m. After my kids (ages 9 and 11) ate the last cookies, Jeremy went to bake more cookies!
This is a new hotel, so everything is still very clean and fresh. Our room was immaculate! We had a room with two queen beds, a flat-screen TV, and a desk. The pillowtop beds had spotlessly clean white duvet covers and several fluffy pillows. The bathroom is spacious and had the basics - shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, and a hairdryer. Our kids forgot their toothbrushes, and we were able to get complimentary toothbrushes/paste at the front desk. The rooms are very quiet and we heard no outside noise.
There is also an indoor pool and hot tub available to guests. The pool is heated, and the temperature was perfect. The only thing that would improve the pool experience is to have larger towels available -- the ones that are there are very tiny.
There is a continental breakfast available from 6 - 10 a.m. There is a fairly good selection. The first morning, there were cheese omelets (previously frozen, I think), bacon, English muffins, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and breakfast bars, along with juice and coffee. The second morning, the selection was about the same, but there were scrambled eggs, potatoes, and tortillas in place of the omelets and bacon. The breakfast area is spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating.
The only complaint that we had during our stay is that our bill reflected that we were charged $0.35 per call for four local calls we made. The Guest Services book in the room stated that local calls were free. I called the front desk, and the charges were reversed. Not sure exactly why we were billed for calls in the first place; however, the problem was correctly quickly and with little hassle.
All of the members of the staff that we had contact with were very friendly and professional.
We have plans to be back in Alpine this July, and we are going to book our room at the Hampton Inn very soon!
Amazing hotel and good location for visiting Marfa, Big Bend etc.
This hotel is a little hard to find but is a jewel of the Big Bend Region this hotel is fantasic and is well worth the drive you will not leave unimpressed.
The room was lovely - bed and bedding plush. Beautiful bath. New hotel so when I had to sleep on the sofa bed, I thought it would be fine. It was okay, but I would have thought that management would have opted for a better mattress for the sofa bed. Biggest negative was that the hotel doesn't have satellite TV and the cable TV was snowy and fuzzy. The front desk said they would contact the provider in the morning. Don't know if it got fixed.
Heater in our room worked fine. Room was very quiet.
