Another time capsule on route 66. Historic café and a route 66 roadside attraction right on an important point which is the mid-point of the road of Chicago to Santa Monica. Signs of mid-point are on the surface of the road and the side of the road. Exciting! Café also has a small gift shop of route 66 memorabilia. Worth to stop.

After a terrible couple of meals in Amarillo, we were heading west on 40 wondering what we would find - was this going to be a food desert with bad chains? Answer: nope. The Midpoint Cafe served up a great burger, a great fry, and excellent pie. Service was great, there are no complaints to be had here.

To be honest - we are planning on heading back to Colorado this summer from the Austin area via the Panhandle. We are planning on going out of our way (coming up 385 & taking 40 over instead of I-27) to eat lunch at the Midpoint Cafe again.

This is a MUST stop. Don't just stop to take the "midpoint" photo's. You must go in and have a delicious meal and you absolutely CAN'T miss out on the heavenly ugly pies. While you're waiting for your meal, just walk into the souvenir shop attached to the cafe for a huge variety of souvenirs to chose from. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive and the owner Dennis is amazing!...so friendly and knowledgeable. This is a MUST stop for sure and a place to visit many times over!!!! Love, love, love it!!!!

Stopped in Adrian on my way to Santa Fe for lunch. Great atmosphere, very nostalgic. Meet people from England, Ireland, and New Zealand. This also the half-way point between Chicago and LA. (Photo op across the street) Nice gift shop. There is also a red truck that you can sign in the parking lot.

Missed the breakfast menu by 5 minutes! Ordered Chicken Salad Sandwich with potato salad. It was okay, the potato salad was heavy on the mustard and the chicken salad very heavy on the mayo and not much else (little or no celery, pecans, onions, etc...) I am pretty sure both were not homemade and bought by the restaurant pre-packaged. The bun was good!

That being said, I also indulged in the a piece of "ugly" pecan pie. It was homemade including the crust. It was hands down the best pecan pie I have ever eaten!!

I will stop here again and aim for the breakfast menu.
