“Disappointed”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

I was looking so forward to having a new place to eat in Abilene. We had dinner here and it was not good. Had the lamb and it was very over cooked. No flavor. Also had the Beer Can chicken. It was just baked chicken. I was expecting smoked chicken that had been cooked sitting on a beer can. Maybe the cook drinks beer while baking the chicken. It is just a half of a chicken with no sides. Very bland. So sad. Paid a lot of money for a disappointing meal. Also tried lunch here. The salad I had was fare, but very small. The sandwiches my family members had were over cooked lamb. They ate them, but said they would not order them again. The place is cool, but not for me.

“A "must go" when in Abilene”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Excellent food, great ambiance, and wonderful service!! This is a unique experience in town and I highly recommend if you're visiting Abilene. Perfect for a quick lunch (sliced lamb sandwich is delicious), or ideal for a cozy dinner with friends or family (you can't go wrong with the smoked lamb shank). Anything from the bar is amazing! Go early, or be patient.

“Perfect Brunch, Lunch or any other time to Munch : )”
Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Not the usual for Abilene. Bartending is an art form here so don't expect your drink to be slopped together from a pre-mix. Same goes with food. Prepare to sit down and enjoy some conversation while you wait to receive each step in your evening. Which is the only way to appreciate good food and great cocktails...slowly.

“Truly Unique Dining Experience In Abilene!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

This Restaurant Is Awesome, It's Downtown And Has A Fantastic Atmosphere. The Bartender Is An Artist And The Food Tastes Amazing. The Only Downside Is The Small Portions That They Give. Otherwise, Go Early Because It's So Good That They're ALWAYS packed!

“Great, if you can stand the wait”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

One of the most unique and truly inspired spaces to eat in in Abilene, Texas - in contrast to cookie cutter chain restaurants, or the "inside a barn" look from the locals. The menu pulls double duty when one uses the term "fresh" as it is never frozen, and wonderfully prepared as familiar tastes are introduced in new combinations. If there is a downside to Abi-Haus, it is the amount of seats/tables they have available. They could easily do well in twice the space, so if you don't mind making it an evening event with family and friends - where simply enjoying one's surroundings and the company you are with...Abi-Haus will reward your wait with a tremendous meal.
