“Great family restaurant”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

Food is great. Wish the facility was larger, but just don't go during the rush. Eat a burger and substitute the onion rings for the fries. You won't be sorry. Lot's of nice menu items. Frozen French fries would be my only complaint, but the homemade onion rings make up for them.

Priced right. Great value. Clean and food very fresh. Salads are very fresh and tasty. The fajita salad is very good.

“It's ok”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

We eat at Skeet's when we are in smaller towns, but in Abilene there are far more restaurants that are higher caliber to choose from. It's average food with the majority of it being fried. I think their burgers are probably the best thing they have. I would not go here to have steak, seafood, or Mexican food considering your alternatives, but it is ok for a lunch spot if you're shopping in the area. Service is good, but it can get cramped as there is not much space and it's quite popular.

“Homestyle Harmony”
Reviewed December 4, 2013 via mobile

Looking for a place to grab a hearty burger that's just like homemade? This is your place. It's not fancy, it's on the corner of a strip shopping center, but it is pretty good. Walk in and be seated by a (probably teenaged) host. There may be families having dinner, there maybe a group of high school football players wolfing down a post-practice meal, or perhaps a few couples enjoying root beer and iced tea with their fried pickles. You'll feel at home wearing jeans or your flip flops, so no need to dress up. You'll be welcomed just the same. Reading the menu you'll find $18 steaks and $7 burgers, with everything in between...fried jalapeños, onion rings, baked potatoes, chicken fried steak and salads.  Not sure about dessert as I didn't have any room left to even consider the idea, but I heard a gal nearby order something sweet to go. Anyway, the Del Rio Burger would be my favorite. It's just a thick, hearty, moist and fresh off the grill burger, topped with cheese and dotted with green chili. Lettuce, tomato and red onion are on the side. Fries have a seasoned coating on them, which makes every bite crispy good, with the light fluffy potato taste after the crunch. Aah. Perfectly American and just right food for when you want simple, hearty fare with friendly, polished service. Recommended!

“What you'd expect”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

The food was tasty & the service was pleasant but I didn't notice anything extraordinary. If you've had fried food in TX then you'll know what to expect.
