I went to the Beehive around Christmastime with a few family members. It is located on a corner in downtown Abilene, and seems to cater to the higher end of the societal spectrum. I ordered some type of fish when I went, and it was OK. I would have preferred a larger portion, but the atmosphere and quality account for more of the cost than the quantity of food. All in all, it was a good restaurant, but I prefer the food at other restaraunts in Abilene.

The Beehive is well-known for their steaks and for a good reason. The fillet I ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was fork tender and melted in my mouth. The service is outstanding and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere. A little pricey - $25 for a 10 ounce fillet but worth it for a special occasion.

Had dinner at the Beehive recently because of recommendations by people at the hotel I was staying at. I went alone so I sat at the bar. The bartender was amazing, extremely friendly and was very generous with pouring of the wine.
The food was exceptional. Starting with house salad which was full of flavor including blue cheese and bacon. Next was the steak, I had the 14oz filet which was out of this world!!!! It had a genuine mesquite flavor and was huge. It came with fries which was kinda disappointing, wish it came with something more refined like asparagus or vegs.
Overall the experience was great and I look forward to returning.

This is one of the best restaurants in town. Nice bar area. The food is consistently good. My main complaints are that they don't do free refills on soda and I find the layout of it to be a bit odd. I believe the space was once an office supply store. One or both of the owners are almost always there checking on customers (they are brothers) and service is always exceptional. The prices are on the high side for dinner but reasonable for a big lunch. I have only had one or two disappointing meals there in about 25 visits. A favorite of locals for special occasions and business meetings. They have been mentioned in Southern Living and Texas Monthly. Located downtown.

The brothers who own this restaurant work hard to keep their customers happy. On the weekends, it's best to make reservations or you'll be waiting for hours. Their steak is legendary. (Any cut you get will be fantastic... just ask your server and they'll help you pick the right one for you.) The chicken fried steak is also a huge favorite. The homemade ranch dressing for the salad is delicious. And the assorted fried appetizers plate, while not exactly healthy, is what most people fight over. They have a full bar, if you so desire, with live music on occasion. And at the end of the meal, you have to have a piece of their carrot cake... Incredibly moist and delicious!
