We have dined at The Galley on a number of occasions, most recently with a group of friends to celebrate a couple's 40th wedding anniversary. The menu has a broad range of selections and it has been our experience that everyone enjoyed their meals. I have had the stuffed flounder, the filet, and the prime rib and they were all great. The service is excellent as well.

If you are not familiar with the area use your GPS or check the location on Google Maps fiirst so you can find it easily.

For those who enjoy Asian fare, Nami excels, is right next door and is under the same management.

My wife and I were on a business trip in rural South Carolina and, as we always do, tried to find a romantic restaurant to make it seem less like a business trip and more like another honeymoon. The Galley Restaurant in Anderson fulfilled our wishes. It had gourmet food, an impressive wine list and helpful guidance from our young but knowledgable waiter, who recommended a very tasty Malbec. We sat outside with a glorious view of Lake Hartwell and the largest inland marina in South Carolina and listened to the slap of the waves on the boats' hulls and the lines clanging against their rigging as we watched the sun set. Being from New York, we expected to be underwhelmed by a rural South Carolina restaurant, but were pleasantly surprised by The Galley's food and wine, and by the prices, which were extremely reasonable compared to those in New York City.

The food was lovely and the servers were attentive and efficient.

Hard to find though, since the road to turn onto from the main highway is unmarked.

When visiting my son at Clemson, we went to a wonderful restaurant on Lake Hartwell. The menu had a wide variety of appetizers and dishes to choose from. The wine list also had 4 or 5 labels for 5 different varieties of both white and red wines. So as you can see the wine list was rather extensive. There were also a number of different beer choices too, including some of the more popular microbreweries. The service was wonderful and it made for a very pleasant dinner. Of course, the view was great. Desserts were also good. the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Most of the clientele seemed to be locals and well dressed. However, my son was made to feel welcome despite his college attire. Will definitely go there again when visiting Clemson.

we spent the weekend at lake hartwell koa campground and the lady at the desk told us about this place which is at the marina. this is a beautiful setting on the lake with the walls of the main dineing room being glass with a great view of the lake. we went early on fri. evening and where seat as soon as we arrived. the cloth table covering and cloth napkins gave the air of an expensive place, happily when we got the menus we found very reasonable prices. we started with a combo plate app. onion rings, fried pickles, and fried mushrooms, very good. i had the shrimp dinner $14.95 and was very pleased with portion size and it was some of the best shrimp i have had. wife had the prime rib and shrimp &19.95 and loved it. over all this was a very pleasant evening and if we return to this area we will eat there again.
