Normal diner style menu with great tasting omelets, eggs and meat,Rapa scrapple if wanted..
Very noisy in main area booths or stools at the bar counter but 2 dining areas are removed from that busy cooking area and are quiet and little cooking smoke if you wish to get away.
The newspaper writeup posted on their wall next to our booth calls the place "sassy" for the rancor or outward spoken waitress and line cook there. It's not something we heard toward us but just loud hollering back and forth to between the front bar cook and the staff on the other side of the wall or rear cooking area. It is a nuance they are proud and placards placed around notify of so forwarned. The hash potatoes were somewhat tastless as they would be w/o much herbs or spices or their taste disappeared in the frying process otherwise it was a nice diner and fairly decent food.
The service depended on the waitress. Ours would throw down the napkin and silverware as she went by, it sort of stayed together, she never spoke a word except when taking our order and never followed up as we received our order and ate. We asked for more coffee and that was that. Everyone , the locals, seems to love the place and the food is really ok. Hope for the other waitress.

I'm a Philly guy who has frequented landmark eateries eg. Pat's Steaks & Geno's in South Philly. I recognize local flavor and Tom & Joe's is loaded with local flavor. Beginning with the old town diner atmosphere; the wait staff's sometime brusque approach; George, the owner/grill master, directing the flow of orders; the efficient back kitchen staff; the matriarch-like aunt minding the cash register and last but not least ( in my opinion) the absolute best breakfast/lunch fare in the area, all combine to equal Local Treasure that , hopefully , never disappears. A wonderful eating experience!

Nothing was good. Very little parking. Cramped environment. The waitress was rude and our breakfast arrived cold. A miserable experience. It was our first, last and only visit. If only one aspect would have been a positive, we might have given it another try.

An old fashioned diner with the best cheesesteak & fries done to perfection I ever had.
Certainly will place this restaurant in my top 20 of great meals. Can't wait to try breakfast!

I used Goggle to find a restaurant that was close to another attraction my family and I were at. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The portions were great and the food was very good. Was disappointed that there was no dessert left for us. Will pre-order it the next time we are in Altoona.
