“Great place to dine in Altoona ”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Every positive review you have read about the knickerbocker is absolutely true! From the choice of craft beers, to the terrific food and the outside dinning ambiance. This is one of the places to eat when in Altoona. We had the crab cake platter with bay fries. You can't go wrong. This time of year try the pumpkin spice beer with your meal.

“Nice Pub, good vibe”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

I was in altoona this weekend visiting a friend. I wanted a Pub and the app delivered a good one very near my hotel. Several good beers on tap and a reasonably priced menu of pub staples.

The roasted garlic tomato soup was good, as were the wings. The crab cakes were not quite up to the Baltimore standard, but then I am in Altoona after all.

I would go again if I return.

“Lots of Charm”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We were told that the Knickerbocker was the place to go to eat outside. Unfortunately, it started to rain right before we got there, so our party was moved inside, which has old bar charm. My friend had pumpkin beer with cinnamon and sugar around the top of the glass. She said it was wonderful. I had the crab cakes with french fries sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning, yum! Our waiter was friendly and patient as our party was large and parking was difficult, so people were coming to our table and ordering at all different times.

“Looking for good food in PA is hard work”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

But after looking on a beer reviewing site, I picked this place out. About 13 really good beers on tap (Yards, Stone, you get the picture) and some truly amazingly good pub food, like jalapeno burgers, great beef souvlaki, and a good but tough steak tip sandwich. Old Bay fries are phenomenal; why does noone else make them!? Can't wait to go back.

“THE place for outdoor dining in Altoona, PA”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

It's all about the patio. A diverse menu with something for everyone. Excellent Cobb salad. A wonderful spot if you find yourself in Blair county between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Don't let the exterior scare you off. The courtyard is charming.
