The museum is a real gem buried deep within a city that once was the largest railroad center in the world. Here you will learn about the men and women who helped to build and maintain the Pennsylvania Railroad. A community that grew up and declined around the railroad. Born and raised in Altoona, I often travel back to visit with relatives and during these visits I always take time to visit the museum. For me it is nostalgic therapy, for those of you who are railroad buffs or simply want to experience a piece of history, it can be an adventure. Many hands on displays, a variety of rail cars out front. A great place for young and old.
