“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2011

Museum tells the story of the Pennsylvania Railroad in Altoona very well. Excellent displays, giving a feel for life of railroad workers and their families. What the modern specialty museum should be.

“A must see when near Altoona”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2011

Our hotel gave us great directions and we drove straight to the museum. We spent over two hours and enjoyed all the exhibits. It is so informative with lots of details. We loved the big gift shop, with the many choices. We bought the combo ticket for the Horseshoe Curve and the Railroaders Museum. I think you will enjoy this museum.

yard was closed dued to renovations being done. the musuem costs $10 if you didnt get a combo ticket at horseshoe curve. great and informative place about the RR industry. they have older locos and trains with a roundtable in the yard. walk over to the overpass and sit down on a bench and wait for trains to pass. usually 1-2 trains every hour-sometimes 3 trains goes past.
