“Trains!”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

The Horseshoe Curve is a great place to watch trains. There are so many great trains passing through there, and there are a lot of railfans that do their thing in the park. Chat up the locals to learn more about the Curve and the trains. It is stunning, and the scenery is amazing. If you are looking for a challenge, climb the stairs up to the top. If not, then you can take the incline. We can't wait to go back there again!

“A True Marvel”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Great to see anytime but really beautiful in the Fall. Hard to believe something like this could have been constructed so long ago. Trains come all the time. Very impressive for all the viewers.

“Unexpectedly Interesting”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Horseshoe Curve is Altoona's premier tourist destination. It was an engineering marvel of it's time, and because of that was on the top ten list of places the Germans wanted to bomb in the US during WW2. Definitely worth your time if you are a train buff, or if you find yourself in Altoona.

“Good experience for anyone”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a really neat experience for any person at any age. I remember when it didn't cost money to go to the top, now you have to pay whether you ride the incline or walk the almost 200 stairs to the top. Which I believe they started charging people about 8 years ago. I mean it is a really cool experience, but I hate paying to do something that should free.

Great view of 4 engines pulling long freight cars around this sharp curve and up grade that was built by hand in the 1800's
