“The Real Deal”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Got a craving for BBQ, here it is. I've had the ribs, brisket, and chicken. The real smoke flavor comes screaming through. You can see the distinctive pink smoke ring, a sign that it was cooked correctly, slow and smoky. I was here with a group to see a band and a double treat both were great.

“Would be great if in the Carolinas, and what sides!”
Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

Pulled pork was very good, as was the sauce (I think the regular is better than the hot). While there is better in the South, this was good to a level that would have been well, well above average in the Carolinas. The sides, however, were the true masterpiece. The jambalaya approached New Orleans levels, a bit milder but seriously flavorful. Fries were crispy but light, truly superb. A vegetable of the day when we were there was grilled asparagus in Tabasco, and no matter how it sounds, it tastes wonderful. The menu is quite deep, and the staff quite friendly. Live music many nights too. This is definitely a new must stop for us when visiting the Sands.

“BBQ is all about the sauce...”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We tried this place after my favorite local BBQ headed south for the winter. The meat is tasty, but they use sweet pickle relish in their BBQ sauce and that just isn't my thing. Otherwise, both the menu and the staff are decent.

“Be prepared”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Visiting the Bethlehem PA area, Grumpy's ad in the Yellow pages seemed tame enough if you like good BBQ. Which we are willing to travel for. Good thing, because Grumpy's is certainly off the beaten path, in the middle of nowhere. The food was super, with the beef brisket and pulled pork literally melting in your mouth. Plus it was Tuesday, Biker Night, and the place was packed with people. Not to mention a parking lot full of some really sweet bikes. Be aware that they are closed on Mondays.

“Great place to make memories”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Our daughter told her soon to be in-laws that Grumpys was going to cater the wedding. "That's a bikers bar!" was their response. Now, 3 years later, we alway go to Grumpys when visiting the area. They did a marvelous job catering the wedding, they did tri-tip, the only place that knew what tri-tip was. Their whole meal was fantastic and plenty of leftovers.

They know how to prepare ribs and must have an in for getting good meat to start with. The joint has character, it's loud, crowded, dark, there are stuffed animals on the walls, it is not a vegetarians type place, but it is fun and memories are made here. We visit once or twice a year from California. This time they had gator bites and spicy asparagus that were a hit with our table. The waitress was a pro, use to handling gobs of people. Parking was difficult, we has a disabled person and there was no disabled parking, or any easy parking this trip. We will be back!
