“Pleasant Surprise”

If you like classic cars, this is the place for you. When I went, there was an exhibit of classic cars from the 1930's. All the cars were in mint condition. The museum also had a place where they showed how cars are restored. A unique museum in Allentown.

“Great museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is an excellent museum which details local as well as national antique automobiles. Many local people donated to this museum, and it is a great place to take kids and adults who love cars. Check out the antique ice creamery too.

“Smithsonian quality museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A small but very well done museum featuring early electric and steam automobiles. Permanent exhibits on the main floor include a car that could also run in the Lehigh River, electric cars through the times, steam cars, a replica of an old gas-repair station, a truck that children can "drive" and a fire engine. The upper level has an ice cream parlor, The Hub Cap Cafe and rotating exhibits which have included racing cars, cars from Hollywood movies and woodies.

“Big wheels keep on turning”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I've been there a few times for private parties and have always enjoyed myself. I'm not a motor head by any stretch of the imagination, but I think the museum is very interesting. They have great special displays - for instance cars that have been in movies. In addition to cars and trucks they also have other wheeled vehicles like bikes and scooters.

“Educator's Delight!”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

America On Wheels Museum offers school children a wealth of information about the transportation industry. The displays are outstanding and informative. As an educator, I enjoyed a tour with the museum's executive director, her knowledge and enthusiasm certainly provide a great incentive to bring my students. I recommend this museum for school field trips.
