“A Frank Lloyd Wright experience”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

As part of our visit to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob we decided to plan a stay at Polymath Park Resort. There are three original houses located around the estate, the Duncan House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and two houses designed by his apprentices - the Blum House and the Balter House. We stayed in the Balter House. Each house is located so they provide a private outlook and you are surrounded by forest. We saw deer and wild turkeys and there was an amazing fall color. There is a restaurant located at the entrance to the estate, Treetops, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner there one night by our hostess Heather, which was wonderful. It should be noted that you need to plan to bring in supplies as the houses are self catering. The experience of staying in the Balter House was, although very 'rustic', a must for Wright students as you can really appreciate the design concepts by living it. We can recommend Polymath Park as an experience, and our thanks go to Heather for a wonderful stay.

“Great visit”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

We had a great visit, would highly recommend staying here if there is a vacancy. I was able to prepare 3 course meal in the kitchen afterwards we enjoyed desert sitting by the fire and enjoying the tree house like views all around us. Can't wait to see this place in the winter. The staff was pleasant, friendly and very accommodating , don't know how this visit could have been any better.

“UNDISCOVERED_Frank Lloyd Wright Gems in PA!!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

FABULOUS FIND of Three (3) OUTSTANDING "Undiscovered" (at least to us) vintage Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture Homes on the SAME Property at 'Polymath Park', very near Fallingwater in the amazingly beautiful hills of western PA.
We were astonished to Discover this most interesting and well preserved find of authentic late original Wright's architecture 'Usonian' design homes. These homes are all located on the same 127 acre private property now owned by the non-profit Polymath Corp, in cooperation with the FLW Conservancy. All are being meticulously CARED for by an avid Wright Architect disciple and are open for limited tours and overnight guest stays. Tour size is limited to small groups which allows for a very informal and informative experience! Also, we recommend you call Polymath directly for your reservations and Correct directions, since printed directions we got from Kentuck Knob were VERY INCORRECT!

Finally, another undiscovered and fantastic GEM on this site is the small Tree Tops restaurant, where the tours assemble. This essentially unadvertised restaurant is totally in keeping with the Wright philosophy of being very well done, yet an unpretentious place to enjoy--before or after a fantastic tour. We thoroughly enjoyed and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it as a wonderful start or finish for ALL VISITORS!! It's menu is simple, with gourmet quality tastes at very reasonably prices.
We're already planning our return visit to Polymath to enjoy it's visionary evolution!!

“A Unique Experience to Remember”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

We were visiting Fallingwater this August with teens in tow and wanted to have an experience that would interest the whole family. Staying at Polymath Park was the highlight for everyone. We arrived late and walked into a welcoming home at the Blum House. The kids loved the uniqueness of the house and my husband, the FLW enthusiast, loved the living example of the architecture. I loved all of that as well as the top level amenities and the sheer comfort of the home. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating and we ran into some distant neighbours staying at one of the other houses. It really was a home away from home.

“Worth a Stop!”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Definitely worth stopping while you're in the area to see Fallingwater and/or Kentuck Knob - these houses are more normal-sized and since people actually stay overnight in them, they look much more lived in so you can see how some of the principles actually aren't bad ideas when they're applied in a more user-friendly way. The guide drives you to the houses in their van, so there's not a lot of walking, and the tours are usually small - when we were there, it was just us and two couples who would be staying overnight. The guide is very knowledgeable and friendly, and knows all the background on the property.
