The Carriage House North room has been beautifully renovated. The room is separated from the main house by a small, tranquil garden. It is sunny, roomy and decorated with careful attention to detail (like the little bouquet of fresh flowers, needlepoint wall hanging), and nice fluffy pillows, thick bed quilt, nice plantation shutters on the windows, updated bathroom--even robes hanging in the closet. It's roomier than the Carriage House South (we took a peek inside). Location is great--about a block from the theaters In short, it has been updated with all the modern conveniences set within a well maintained Victorian. Breakfast was delicious. Loved the muffins!

The historic McCall house is charming and well-maintained. Beds were comfortable and the innkeeper and her assistant were professional and courteous. The breakfast was also delicious.

it was immaculate, elegant, and in a great location, a block or two from of the Shakespeare Festival and access to Lithia Park trails, and the shops in the center of town. The breakfasts were gourmet. Nola, our hostess was very nice, sensitive to everyone's needs and seemed to genuinely like her guests. She added special touches like a decanter of Sherry in each room, iced tea and delicious homemade cookies all day in the dining room of this tastefully furnished and bright Victorian. There was a refrigerater and microwave just for guests, stocked well with water and plenty of ice. Parking was in the rear parking lot of the home was no problem at all. The mattresses were great. We felt pampered.

We stayed at the McCall House for three nights in the Anna Anderson guestroom. We really liked the room with windows on two sides, light filled in the morning, and the view into the trees of the backyard. We used the outside sitting area between the two houses a couple of times during the day, and the two big rooms in the evenings. The breakfast was great every morning and we enjoyed sharing the breakfast table with other travelers who gave us their view of the town, the plays of the Shakespeare festival, and opportunities, what to do in the southern Oregon area.

This year is our fourth year staying at McCall House while visiting Ashland for the OSF. Nola and the staff make sure your visit is exactly like having a home of your own while staying here. The breakfasts are superb, the hospitality unmatched and the rooms (we've stayed in three, but now only the Sleeping Porch) comfortable and inviting. Add to that the great location (a short block and a half to the theaters) and relatively quiet neighborhood and you have an absolute winner. My wife and I are early risers and always take a vigorous walk first thing. The neighborhood is lovely for walking and we can always end our walk downtown for a coffee stop before returning "home".
