“Best Place to Stay in Ashland”

Abigail's Bed and Breakfast Inn is becoming our new home away from home while attending the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Abi and Patti go out of their way to make you feel so welcome and comfortable. This bed and breakfast is immaculate along with it's charming rooms and Patti's delicious afternoon cookie treats. We have never stayed at an inn that was so lovingly cared for inside and out. Abi is the perfect host as he serves Patti's mouth watering breakfast. Today is Monday and we are still making yummy sounds from how good the food was. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch with our family and truly felt like we were home. The inn is a short walk from the downtown plaza and theaters. Do yourself and your loved ones a huge favor by staying with Abi and Patti and the Abigail Inn. You will be so glad that you did. We look forward to coming back next year as well!

Room Tip: My wife and I and our son were very comfortable in the Dunaway room.

The Professor and I have been coming to the OSF for three years running now and we always stay at Abigail's B&B. Love it!! Abigail's has the best innkeepers, the best breakfast, and the best front porch.

This year we got here on a Tuesday, dropped off our bags without unpacking and just went and sat on the porch until our blood pressure dropped 10 points. Whew. It felt so good to put up our feet and breathe. I come out here in the mornings before breakfast with a big mug of coffee and look at the beautiful mountains and landscapes and start to let go of all the nuisances of big city life. It rejuvenates me for the day ahead of walking, eating and watching those great plays.

If you haven't stayed here before, give it a try. Once you try it, you will come again and again.

Wish you were here,
Mary and the Professor

For our first extended visit to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, we were fortunate to be introduced to Abigail's Bed and Breakfast by friends. Abi and Patti keep an immaculate and comfortable home. The breakfasts are sumptuous and varied. And everywhere are little extras like candy, cookies, drinks, books, games, and a sunny front porch to enjoy them on. Everyday we walked the few blocks to the theaters. We felt so lucky.

Room Tip: Any room is good. Don't worry about the street traffic because it disappears by 10pm.

We arrived at Abigails at 9:30pm on the night of our wedding and were greeted by a chorus of frogs and crickets, outdoor lights, and a cool breeze. After being greeted warmly by our host, we were ushered into the lovely home. It was neat and clean, warm and cozy, and very inviting. The wallpaper and furniture and very pleasant and tasteful. We had a private balcony which we enjoyed in the early morning and late evening. It is quite nice to have wireless internet available and tv if you want to relax in the room during the heat of the day. The front porch is also homey and comfortable. The grounds are neat and maintained - I loved rubbing a bit of lavender between my fingers as I walked by. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning - we liked the variety. Treats and snacks and drinks are available 24/7. We also liked that although there were other occupants, we never heard our neighbors. It is an easy walk into Ashland downtown where there are lots of fun stores, restaurants, and outdoor areas to enjoy. Abi and Patti were kind gracious hosts whom we enjoyed interacting with We also liked meeting the other people staying there during breakfast time. Overall we would highly recommend Abigails. It definitely has the romantic atmosphere we wanted!

We came to Ashland from the Bay Area as a stop on the way to visit family in Seattle. Most B&Bs in Ashland require a two night minimum in June. We were fortunate that The Abigail Inn was able to accommodate us for a night. Our experience proved exceptional. Abi and Patti were gracious and welcoming, and accommodated our earlier than expected arrival. The building is well maintained and attractive both inside (the common areas & room) and out (beautiful flowers abound). The Abigail Alcott room was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The room (located upstairs) also had an outdoor sitting area. It does face the busy street, but with a fine view of the nearby mountains. My wife and I spent a portion of our afternoon on the front porch downstairs catching up on e-mail and sipping sangria in comfortable seating. We slept well (traffic on the busy street dies down later at night) and enjoyed a tasty hot breakfast and swapped travel stories with our fellow guests in a comfortable dinning room setting. There are accommodations closer to the central square and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, but we had no trouble making the relatively short walk from Abigail to the town center. We definitely will come again....

Abigail's has to be one of the best B & B's I've ever stayed in! The hosts, Abi and Patti, made us feel most welcome.Fresh-baked cookies and chocolate treats, plus a large selection of gourmet coffees and teas, were available all the time. Our room was beautiful and well-appointed. The Inn is within walking distance of the Plaza in downtown Ashland. And the breakfasts were delicious! Apricot-pecan French toast souffle, for instance! I'll be recommending this Inn to all my friends.

Abigail's is a fine B&B, not least because Abi and Patti leave the drama and theater to the Festival while the B&B feels like home, but without the fuss and chores. Both hosts are very knowledgeable about what to do and see in Ashland and its broad environs. All of their suggestions have been right on target -- restaurants, shops, winery, creamery, chocolatier, parks, hike, bike routes. The breakfasts are quite varied, day-to-day, but Patti is very attentive to the needs of individual clients; expect to skip mid-day meals if you do justice to her presentations. Something about Ashland and Abigail's in particular seems to draw an interesting, interested, and pleasant clientele who take advantage of everything, including quiet private hours of reading in the common indoor and outdoor areas. Finally, expect to have Abi and Patti as long-term friends as long as you do not pluck their roses for your significant other (we left our rose snips in the car).
