Description: LARKS HOME KITCHEN CUISINE celebrates Oregon - its farms, orchards, creameries and wineries - offering dishes that excite and surprise with freshness and flavors. We are passionately committed to offering the most fresh & local ingredients possible. Larks celebrates Oregon's bounty by creating innovative cuisine from scratch, offering a unique dining experience. Our restaurant Executive chef, Damon Jones, is a master in showcasing opulent seasonal ingredients delivered daily from local farms, delighting visitors with the flavors of this amazing region. Larks' kitchen is full of many talented people including two Sous Chefs - Franco Console and Robert Wilson - Pastry Chef Terra Sharp, and many other 'food artists' whose creativity and attention to quality is expressed in every daily special. Dishes like steak, hearty soups, flavorful salads and grilled Northwest steelhead are the most popular. Other specialties include pork chops and apple and caramelized onion fondue. Ingredients like truffle oil, wild mushrooms, hazelnuts, pears, and marionberries layer in the Oregon flavor. Our Pastry Chef's creations depend on what is available that season and include fruit tarts, chocolate cake with housemade salted caramel ice cream, or cranberry-pumpkin bread pudding. Our beverage selection extends the theme of local and seasonal with a choice of herb-infused cocktails made with Oregon spirits, local wines, and beers. Larks' downtown Ashland, Oregon restaurant creates a connection between restaurant guests and our local farmers, ranchers, distillers, and winemakers. Come on in for a taste of local flavor.

We have eaten at Lark's many times and have always a nice meal. Last night was an exception: I ordered an eggplant marinara main course ($23) and it was terrible. The heavy marinara must have been RAGU and the presentation was less than attractive. My husband had halibut and found it tasteless and did NOT have a fresh taste. Preceding our main courses we both had field greens salad--greens that were not fresh, cold or crisp. Dessert was marginally better with a dark cherry pastry. We will not return.

Larks was in the hotel we stayed in-- which does not usually recommend a place to me, but a local friend said it was great, and we agreed. Had a brunch and a dinner, and the food was delicious, varied, local and served with charm and friendliness. Would definitely go again and try more items on their inventive menu. Expensive, and you should make plenty of time if you are going to see a play, as you won't like to rush this place and the chef.

We have eaten at Larks often. It is very comfortable and nicely furnished. The bar is beautifuly done with dark wood and mirrors. The food is delicious -- they always have a soup of the day that is quite good. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal but my husband often orders their meatloaf which is wonderful so he hasn't tried a lot of other things. I like their fresh fish options and their filet is also very good.

Cheesy, crab fondue was excellent with its a bit crusty top served with toast. The large pork chop was flavorful & moist; we substituted bleu cheese mashed potatoes-were ruined by the chef drowning them in a sweet apple based sauce. The server never did deliver the corrected potatoes, nor offer to refill our wine until our meal was over. My kobe steak was barely warm and looked like it had sat while the other entree was prepared. My kobe steak just looked sad and dry. This shows disorganization in the kitchen. This place had real potential but the execution just was faulty from the kitchen to the service. Won't be back.

with a hefty price tag in your upscale restos? Well here, they use fresh Alaskan halibut to make fish 'n chips. You get bug chunks of that famous flaky white meat, moist and hot and batter fried, with a pile of french fries, all for about twelve bucks. We just had lunch there, but I hear the crab fondue at dinner is exceptional. Seriously! This in a white tablecloth, sit down resto in the only real hotel in town. Decor is flat and not very inviting, but hey, stop by here just for the halibut (Sorry!).
