Description: LARKS HOME KITCHEN CUISINE celebrates Oregon - its farms, orchards, creameries and wineries - offering dishes that excite and surprise with freshness and flavors. We are passionately committed to offering the most fresh & local ingredients possible. Larks celebrates Oregon's bounty by creating innovative cuisine from scratch, offering a unique dining experience. Our restaurant Executive chef, Damon Jones, is a master in showcasing opulent seasonal ingredients delivered daily from local farms, delighting visitors with the flavors of this amazing region. Larks' kitchen is full of many talented people including two Sous Chefs - Franco Console and Robert Wilson - Pastry Chef Terra Sharp, and many other 'food artists' whose creativity and attention to quality is expressed in every daily special. Dishes like steak, hearty soups, flavorful salads and grilled Northwest steelhead are the most popular. Other specialties include pork chops and apple and caramelized onion fondue. Ingredients like truffle oil, wild mushrooms, hazelnuts, pears, and marionberries layer in the Oregon flavor. Our Pastry Chef's creations depend on what is available that season and include fruit tarts, chocolate cake with housemade salted caramel ice cream, or cranberry-pumpkin bread pudding. Our beverage selection extends the theme of local and seasonal with a choice of herb-infused cocktails made with Oregon spirits, local wines, and beers. Larks' downtown Ashland, Oregon restaurant creates a connection between restaurant guests and our local farmers, ranchers, distillers, and winemakers. Come on in for a taste of local flavor.

“Thoughtfully prepared, fresh cuisine”

Fell in love with Larks on our visit to Ashland last year. Luckily, I made a reservation in advance knowing Easter Sunday would be popular and busy! We did have to cut our OSF Behind the Scenes tour just a little early but it was well worth it. A pris fixe menu was available for today's option which is what I chose. My meal offered a mimosa to start. It was delightful. I then chose the chocolate chip and cranberry scone. Not dry at all. Excellent flavor and texture. My entree was a quiche with mushrooms and other ingredients. The crust was delicate and flaky as you'd like. Also a side of fresh asparagus, grilled smartly. Dessert was a layered custard cake type parfait topped with Cadbury egg. My food was satisfying, flavorful and just all around delicious. My husband had the shredded chicken chilaquiles, tomatillo salsa, fried egg with black bean purée. Very delicious. His apple crumble type dessert was nicely presented and also very good. Wouldn't hesitate to eat here again and highly recommend Larks for your dining pleasure.

A birthday dinner: Every dish and glass of wine was delicious, the staff were perfect, the restaurant beautiful and we were all so full of good food that there was not even room to try the dessert, sadly for the birthday girl, though, the meal had been so good she scarcely wanted cake.

“Consistently good”

Nice atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff, good food. Love that they accommodate gluten free people so well. We are local and have been regularly visiting the last few months. We even called one evening to see if they were still serving dinner (not realizing it was just before closing) and got a friendly greeting and the response was to come on in. We did and it was very nice:)

“Great staff great time”

I've been going to Larks since 2006. The atmosphere is fun, comfortable, and joyful--part someone's large living room and part 1920s. The food is part comfort and part gourmet. The staff is both professional and personable. Out of all of the dinners and lunches we've had there, there was only one dish we ordered that wasn't up to par--black-eyed peas. We moved to Ashland from the south and black eyed peas have to be cooked a certain way for those of south of the divide. The bar is friendly and the drinks are good. For lunch, many consider the hamburger the best in town.

“Fussy with no Finesse”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

When the waiter fumbled trying to describe every special it was clear the entrees were jammed packed with pretension. My yellowtail was maybe 6oz of over cooked fishy fish. the side of rutabaga frites were actually a tablespoon of shavings. The salad was six leaves of watercress and 4 kumquats. It was 30 dollars. My husband had crab fondue which came with giant slabs of dense rosemary bread , which was good bread but completely wrong and overwhelming for the fondue. Overpriced and underwhelming describes this best. Many better places in town.
